0344 hrs / Incident / 5400 block Carpinteria Avenue

A subject was contacted sleeping behind a local business, after deputies were dispatched to an alarm call there. The subject had two $5,000 warrants out for his arrest, and he was arrested and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail without incident. 

 

1621 hrs / Incident / 6300 block Carpinteria Avenue

An unknown suspect was seen riding his bicycle around the parking lot of a local business. The unknown suspect stole approximately $50 worth of items from an unlocked vehicle and then proceeded to tamper with other vehicles in the parking lot. Fingerprints were taken and a video was also gathered as evidence. 

 

Monday, Nov. 13

0057 hrs / Narcotics / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

Deputies contacted a subject at the skatepark. During a consent search, deputies located a methamphetamine pipe with a usable amount of methamphetamine, a BB gun, a taser and stolen credit cards inside the subject’s backpack. The subject admitted that he attempted to use the credit card; he was booked at Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

1913 hrs / Incident / Palm Avenue

Deputies received multiple reports of a disturbance on Eighth Street. After deputies arrived, they were told by a resident that a subject was intoxicated and causing a disturbance at their residence but had left. Deputies received a second report that the subject was yelling and throwing things around his apartment on Palm Avenue. Deputies contacted the subject outside and determined he was unable to care for himself. During a search incident to arrest, deputies located a small baggie containing suspected cocaine in his wallet. The subject was booked at Santa Barbara County Jail on the above charges. 

 

Tuesday, Nov. 14

1038 hrs / Vehicle Accident / Linden Avenue

Deputies responded to a vehicle accident. The suspect vehicle was attempting to park in front of the business and hit a parked vehicle. The suspect then got out of her vehicle and, since she did not see any damage, left the area. A witness saw the accident and was able to get the license plate. The driver of the struck vehicle came out and noticed the damage to his vehicle and called to report the incident. 

 

1954 hrs / Vandalism / Dahlia Court

Deputies responded to a report of vandalism of a vehicle. 

 

2344 hrs / Equipment Violation / Casitas Pass Road and Cameo Road

A subject was stopped for an equipment violation. During the investigation, deputies learned he was unlicensed, and during a consent search, deputies located two fraudulent government ID cards. The subject was arrested for the above-mentioned charges, and was transported and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail. 

 

Thursday Nov. 16

0015 hrs / Incident / 5100 block Carpinteria Avenue

A subject was found sleeping on the steps of the Carpinteria Community Library. Deputies had previously advised the subject that he was not allowed to sleep at this location. The man was issued a citation for a violation of the Carpinteria Municipal Code.

 

0033 hrs / Narcotics / Finney Street

At midnight on Thursday, Nov. 16, deputies contacted a subject found to be in possession of two methamphetamine pipes and methamphetamine. The subject was issued a citation for the violations. 

 

0147 hrs / Narcotics, Suspended License / Via Real and San Roque

A deputy conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to be operating with a suspended license. During a consent search of the vehicle, the deputy located drug paraphernalia and narcotics. The driver was cited and released for the violations. 

 

1454 hrs / Warrant / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

A subject was brought to the Carpinteria Station for an outstanding felony warrant. The subject was arrested and booked in Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Friday, Nov. 17

1251 hrs / Stolen Vehicle / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

The reporting party called to report his personal vehicle was stolen from the city hall parking lot. A deputy took the report and entered it into the national database for stolen vehicles. The reporting party called back to report he had located his vehicle in the driveway of his residence.

 

1600 hrs / Incident / 6600 block Rincon Road

The reporting party called to report an incident with a Lyft driver. The reporting party stated the driver went off the course provided by the app, took back roads and made bizarre comments to her. She felt uncomfortable and demanded to be let out. Reporting stated she felt the driver was going to hurt or assault her. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the driver. 

 

1950 hrs / Incident / Lillie Avenue

A white vehicle pulled in front of the fire station and broke one of the front windows. 

 

2027 hrs / Narcotics / Casitas Pass Road and Cameo Road 

Deputies contacted a subject during a traffic enforcement stop. During a search, deputies found a digital scale and a bag of fentanyl, as well as two separate bags of fentanyl were recovered, one approximately 1.5 grams, the other approximately 6.5 grams. The subject was arrested and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Saturday, Nov. 18

1015 hrs / Incident / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

Reporting party reported an unknown suspect stabbed his vehicle multiple times at Viola Fields and followed him as he left. The reporting party then drove to the Carpinteria station. The reporting party described the suspect vehicle and provided a license plate. The reporting party’s vehicle had approximately four stab marks, damage to the passenger mirror and a few scratches. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle in the area. 

 

1207 hrs / Theft / 1000 block Casitas Pass Road

The reporting party reported her wallet had been stolen from her purse while she was shopping at a local store the day prior. She reported her driver’s license, debit cards and approximately $250 cash was inside. She reported the wallet stolen to the grocery store where she was shopping at the time, due to store employees stating the reporting party couldn’t look at the cameras until she filed a police report.
